bobby's sequence critique

bobby is a god when it comes to creativity, my words seem to always fall short when his images fall perfectly like life's puzzle have been finally solved.

aside from the perfection he displayed in an artsy motion sequence video of his images, the images seem to hold great depth and thought to them that an ordinary person can not capture. his tunnel picture captures me in a trans as it the video loops through the photos with perfect light and exposure.  as i stared at it for 5 hours, give or take 2 hours. i noticed that if the pictures were cropped to have a smoother transition between pictures it would have been i little better than perfect.

for the first hour i stared at his golf action photos, i was distracted by how perfect his form was executing that complex and sophisticated technique of driving the golf ball piercing through the wind.  then i noticed the lighting was consistent and the color saturation of the greens was splendid.

and finally the sequence photo of the bucket was such a delightful surprise as my first impression of a bucket was silly.  then if found the crystal clear droplets of water captured as they fall in a dark water filled bucket as if he collected all my thoughts and is draining them endlessly into this dark abyss of  a bucket. the sharpness of the photo is what captured my attention the most.  the lighting was perfectly done to make the water in the bucket seem so dark, yet the droplets are clear as the clouds of heaven.

Bobby, you've done it again. super A plus.

Bobby's toying with light critique

In bobby's work i find my self lost in the story seem to tie in with all his photos.  His photos seem to follow an old murder movie i've seen in my past, with the insane lights of the first picture and then the serious expressions of his coworkers.  and then the ice machine of course where you'll always find some sort of cut off body parts that range from decapitated heads to just some toes here and there.

the lighting in all the photos are well done and seem to fall seamlessly in the movie playing in my head. the contrast and sharpness of the images seem to be spot on and i love that he made the endless tunnel and the ice machine a black and white frame. in conclusion i would give him an A plus.

Lion Heart

Of all the photos i have seen in my life many have impressed me on a higher level than the photo i choose to display, but i can not say any of those photos lingered in my mind and provoked my thoughts and emotions long after i took my eyes off the photo. Only this photo's presence was persistent above all other images of higher quality or better composition.

This image always leaves lingering feelings of starting a great enlightening revolution, to speak out to all those sleeping fools in the world that are so preoccupied with meaningless things that repels us farther and farther away from being affectionate humans.

This photo protest the notions that we have in our society of endless consumption and buying to feel complete or to say only if i have this i can do that, only if i had that i could finally stand and speak up about cruel inhumanity in the world that we are all distracted or even turn away from, from being preoccupied with minuscule things in our selfish and self centered life.  on the contrary the image protest that we need nothing more than what we already have to stand up, just as a bare footed child with a stone in his hand can stand up against tower steel.  the child nor the stone can damage or apprehend a tank, its the emotions a fearless child can evoke in people like me and you.

As a person that lives in such society, i understand and can't blame anyone for being so oblivious and ignorant of such things because i myself find myself wrapped up and preoccupied with the stresses of school, work and paying bills in an endless cycle that is still enforced not out of necessity of our current times but for the mere fact is that it was a necessity back then and now people like me and you won't stand up to say that no longer does another have to lose for us to win.  its only when i stare at this photo i am ripped from the midst of the endless distractions and makes me think about others and how our fortunate lives are paid for with their misfortunes.  This photo makes me wonder how a man can lose such powerful elements of what makes us humans, i wonder how we came to live like mice in a maze when a child with nothing can be a lion. and how maybe one day in our pasts we were all born with a lion heart.

This is the only photo that i will forever relate to every time i feel or speak of courage and true love. and i hope as you read my written words that your focus would be on the core of the image and not the composition or quality of my writing, because after our feelings came to existence first then language was an invented apparatus that attempts to communicate the feelings we have.  As we all know that most of our big worries and quarrels in life are caused by miscommunication, so i as that you see and read with the heart and not you eyes.
